Welcome to Kim Allen Designs! I started out as Merry Mailboxes, which began in a very unique way. While teaching preschool in Brentwood, TN, I had a country music celebrity’s son in my class. After he suddenly lost his brother-in-law, I decorated his mailbox with fresh greenery and ribbons printed with Bible verses as a gesture of condolence.

While doing this, a woman in a large SUV approached me, asking for my business card. I explained that it wasn’t a business, just a kind gesture for a friend. She insisted that I should start a business, which led me to create Merry Mailboxes.

Initially, I saw it as a small Christmas business, decorating mailboxes for the holidays. It soon grew to include all holidays and celebrations, Fall, graduations, baby showers, weddings. I also do custom bows.

At the same time, I was already doing design work, such as home refreshes and staging, along with other holiday decor. It made perfect sense to create everything under one umbrella: Kim Allen Designs.

Giving back to my community is important to me, so you’ll often find my mailboxes featured in silent auctions for local nonprofits in Williamson County.
